Masters

The PPBI Master Degree is a 2-year programme aiming to train and qualify the professional for research in Science and Biotechnology. In PPBI, the students will have the opportunity to learn classical, contemporary and current methodologies and approaches, while maintaining a systemic view of the organizations involved. They may also assist in teaching scientific knowledge to people with special needs.

The PPBI Master degree programme aims to integrates the student in the search and the execution of a supervised project and learn the interpretation of results, so that , at the end of the course, they have the ability for independence and self-motivation. This work is characterized by the research and systematization of the existing literature on the subject covered and the ability to use methods and techniques of current scientific and technological research and their application in creative ways.

The ability to write scientific papers should be evidenced not only by the writing of the dissertation and conference abstracts, but also by the publication or submission of article (s) during the course. The dissertation is a document that will present the results of a single issue study, with the main goal to gather, analyze and interpret information, thus revealing the knowledge of existing literature on the subject.

The Masters degree in PPBI is considered a preparation for research with a greater level of complexity and a step towards the doctorate and to academic improvement. The target audience of the master program are those with a college degree in biology, biomedicine, pharmacy, health and related fields who are interested in biological aspects of knowledge and / or their application. This profile allows students to participate in the Graduate Program with a focus on interactions (at molecular, cellular and systemic levels) linked to lines of active and productive research.
